Is a Destination Wedding right for you?

You have family all across the country or all across the world and most guests will need to travel regardless of where your wedding is located. Let’s meet in paradise!
You would like an intimate gathering. The guest list of a destination wedding is usually smaller, which allows you to indulge in extra luxuries and invite your closest friends and family.
You would like something different as this is your second-marriage or you are renewing your wedding vows.

You would like to privately elope in paradise. You can be legally wed abroad; the resort can provide witnesses and then if you like, have your wedding reception when you return home!
You would like to spend less on your wedding. The average cost of a wedding is $30,000 (and may be more if you live in major cities). Destination weddings are considerably less. If your budget is restrictive, Mexico and the Caribbean provide great value and even free weddings in some cases.

Your dreams include a lavish and exotic wedding. The sky is the limit and even that limit is being tested with Branson’s project of piloting people into space. Imagine exchanging vows sans gravity. If you can dream it, I can make it possible from having your own private island for your wedding group to exotic locations.
*You can experience your very own weddingmoon (wedding and honeymoon combined)! You have already purchased your airfare. Why not take the second week and enjoy your wedded bliss. You can stay where you are or change locations for a new experience.

You need less stress and want a carefree wedding. Already struggling with how to fit in wedding planning in the short time you have before your big day? Once you have the logistics of your destination wedding sorted, your wedding is taken care of by the resort wedding planner and I take care of your travel arrangements and guest’s questions and requests. Pick your colors, add in your special requests and voila, it is done up for you.

WHAT IF...

Your #beachbride dream is easier than you think! There are two types of brides:

Bride A: You are the one that has spent every waking moment searching through endless blogs, getting sucked into helpless and confusing Facebook Groups, submitting your email everywhere to get a slightly helpful Destination Wedding "freebie" checklist and you're still pulling your hair out when it comes to executing the data you've collected. You question everything you've picked...the resort...will your guests be able to afford it? Does it match your wedding vibe? Will the food be delicious and the drinks top shelf? You are overwhelmed by the room blocks, resort booking perks, endless emails from your guests who "can't figure it out"...and you are exhausted.

Bride B: You started out like Bride A...but quickly discovered the power of having a Destination Wedding Travel Planner at your side. Not only do you completely understand room blocks and the whole process, you are confident that the resort is exactly what you were looking for (...AND your guests can afford to come too!). You now spend your free time checking off your personal wedding to-do list because your Travel Planner (me!) has the travel, resort and event details covered for you. Your guests are easily and confidently booking their rooms because your Travel Planner has systems set up to make the process simple and organized. You are seeing the vision an amazing wedding coming together and you know you will feel pampered, safe and stress-free! Are you ready to be Bride B? Let me help take you from overwhelmed and stressed to blissfull and calm so you too can enjoy the wedding planning process!

Why then do you require a retainer?

At Destinations By Sue we take a great deal of pride in our work and are determined to provide the absolute best service to our clients. So that we can provide that service we have chosen to ONLY work with a select few clients at a time and book only 2 to 3 destination weddings per year. We want you to be assured that everyone is well taken care of. Our number one goal is to provide great service to our Destination Wedding couples and their guests.

Destination weddings require expertise and time – we research and recommend a destination and resort after consulting with you, we contact the wedding department to determine availability, discus & assess your needs in regards to group vs. individual booking options, we then work with each of guests to make sure that they are fully informed and comfortable with the travel arrangements, applying payments and sending personalized invoices.

A Destination Wedding may not always work out for the bride & groom. Occasionally issues may come up after the research, group and/or deposit were set in place. We’ve encountered many unforeseen situations that have made a Destination Wedding no longer an option – while we understand that life happens we must make sure that our expenses (such as international phone calls), and time (dispensing advice, answering questions, providing quotes and negotiating on your behalf,) are at least partially covered. We more than likely have turned down assisting other couples with their Destination Weddings; the retainer guarantees your spot on our destination wedding calendar.

Professionals – At Destinations By Sue we feel that it is very important to have first hand knowledge of a destination and resort plus a personal relationship with the resort staff so that our clients can benefit from our experience! We travel several times yearly to do site inspections (on our own dime- no, as TA’s we do not travel for free!) meet with general managers, and wedding coordinators! . We also spend a tremendous amount of time training. We average at least several hours a week educating ourselves & keeping abreast of the travel industry, whether reading up on changes at destinations and resorts in trade magazines, taking an online course, meeting with a tourist board or supplier representatives. Forming those relationships that our beneficial to our clients.

The retainer covers packages– hotel and transfers or hotel, transfers and airfare. It does not cover airfare or transfer only bookings. We are not wedding planners, and do not book outside vendors such as photographers, florists or DJ’s.

The cost of the retainer starts at $350.00 (USD). The retainer covers travel arrangements for yourself, and for a destination wedding, providing all of your guests that book with Destinations By Sue fantastic service. Read our many reviews on BBB (Better Business Bureau) and you know we go above and beyond for all our clients'.
